A Woman Gave a Wild Fox a Dry Place to Sleep — Then Faced Criticism for Trying to Help Him

He appeared in the garden regularly, sometimes accompanied by another fox. He seemed comfortable in the surroundings and often rested beneath the trees.

One day, after seeing him curled up outside in wet weather, she decided to provide a sheltered resting place.

Her intention was simple: give the animal somewhere dry and comfortable to rest.

She shared the experience online, expecting others to appreciate the peaceful moment.

Instead, some people accused her of trying to turn a wild animal into a pet.

The criticism upset her enough that she decided to explain herself publicly.

“I’m Not Trying to Make Him a Pet”

In her message, the woman emphasized that the fox remained completely free.

She wasn’t keeping him indoors, confining him, or preventing him from leaving.

He could enter the garden whenever he wished and disappear back into the surrounding area just as easily.

She also explained that she and her partner intended to remain in their home for years, so she hoped the garden would continue to be a peaceful place for him.

For her, the gesture came from compassion rather than a desire to own a wild animal.
