My Ex Tried to Ruin My Day at Work — But He Never Expected I’d Turn the Tables and Take Revenge That Very Same Day

The day before it all happened, my life collapsed in the most humiliating way possible.

I walked into my kitchen humming, thinking about dinner, only to freeze in the doorway. My boyfriend John was there—with another woman. Her lipstick was smeared, his shirt half unbuttoned, and they were laughing like I didn’t exist.

“John?” my voice cracked.

He barely turned. “Guess you should find out now,” he muttered.

The woman smiled casually, like she belonged there.

Something inside me broke.

I don’t even remember everything I said. I just remember packing a bag, leaving that house, and sleeping on my cousin’s couch that night while my chest felt like it was collapsing.

The next morning, I still went to work. It was my first day at a new restaurant job, and I couldn’t afford to lose it. I forced myself to stand straight, smile, and pretend I wasn’t falling apart.

For a few hours, it worked.

Then the door opened.

John walked in.

With her.

I froze mid-step, tray shaking in my hands. They chose my section.

He leaned back in his chair, smirking. “Well, well. Look who’s here.”

“Table for two?” I asked quietly, trying to stay professional.

“You’ll serve me here too,” he said, loud enough for others to hear.

His girlfriend added, “Don’t mess this up or you’ll lose more than your house.”

And then the humiliation began.

They mocked me, dropped things on purpose, laughed at me, and treated me like I was nothing. I felt my throat burn, but I couldn’t risk my job.
