My Sister Kept Walking Around My Husband in Just a Towel and Called It a ‘Test’ – Then One Day, He Did Something That Made Her Turn Bright Red

Kayla smiled.

“Finally.”

Andrew leaned against the counter.

“You’ve been calling this a test all week, right?”

“Exactly.”

“Good.”

He pulled out his phone.

“Congratulations, Kayla.”

He unlocked it.

“You passed.”

Her smile faded.

“Passed what?”

“My test.”

“What test?”

Andrew placed his phone on the counter.

“Whether you’re ready to live with roommates.”

Kayla stared at the screen.

Then picked up the phone.

Her entire face turned red.

“What is this?”

“Three rooms for rent.”

She swiped across the screen.

“All within twenty minutes.”

“You’ve been looking for apartments for me?”

“Rooms.”

“You can’t do that!”

“I found listings, Kayla. I didn’t sign a lease.”

“You can’t throw me out!”

“I’m not.”

She turned toward me.

“Amanda, are you seriously letting your husband kick me out of your house?”

I shook my head.

“Andrew isn’t kicking you out.”

“Then what is this?”

“Temporary needs an end date.”

Her expression hardened.

“Because I wore a towel?”

“No.”

I removed the toast before it burned.

“Because I asked you to stop doing something in my home, and you decided my boundary didn’t count unless I could convince you my reason was good enough.”

“So you’re punishing me.”

“No. If I wanted to punish you, I’d let you keep eating Andrew’s cereal.”

Andrew pointed at me.

“Unnecessary.”

“It’s terrible cereal.”

“Still unnecessary.”

Kayla wasn’t amused.

“I’m heartbroken, Amanda.”

Her voice cracked.

“I have almost no money. I don’t even have a job yet.”

“I know.”

“And you’re giving me a deadline?”
